And the biscuit tally is...
11,840
Today we baked a whopping 4,400 biscuits, with the overall tally soaring past the 10,000. We saw some new faces, as well as some who have helped us over many years and bakes. Please join us on a little tour of the day...
Rebecca and Robyn building a
butter sculpture.
Should we keep baking or create artworks?
Our customers are the judge!
That all important 140g...totally focused
on the task are Mellany and Anna.
Sia and Xavier preparing the bags,
Xavier's got those labels perfectly straight.
But what's going on around them? Empty tables?
No problem says Sia, we've got this!
Taylah and Heather carefully measuring out
the 10 cups per mix.
AJ stirring another one bound for the kitchen.
Jennifer and Cheryl making sure the
right amount of bicarb is going in.
Rolling in the kitchen are Luke, Josh and Alyson.
The pantry crew's got a cracking pace going too,
Therese and Wayne in one corner...
Emma, Dimil and Dean in the other.
Biscuits as far as we can see, Pam and Cherie
lifting them on racks to cool before packing.
Fast and furious, Jordan and David.
And they're just as eager on the other side,
Dallas and Louise counting and packing.
Julie brings the finished bags
over for packing in baskets.
Changing of the guard - Brenda has volunteered
at Aurora for many years and though retired
from the Tearooms, she's come in to help today.
Counting packets of biscuits instead of dollars and
statistics, Angelique has put the finishing touches to
every order for many, many years!
Time to swap jobs...Xavier and Dimil prepare
for work at the butter table.
Cut, weigh and wrap!
And so as we come to the end of another day we can see the hard work of everyone is paying off and orders are flying out the door as well as new and second ones flying in!!! Rest assured, we'll keep baking till we've filled them all, see you again tomorrow 😊
