And the biscuit tally is...
3,870
Today we baked 3,180 biscuits. Ovens were woken up extremely early (too early for the Phantom Blogger to get a picture of them still yawning). We were joined by a wonderful group of volunteers from Aurora Energy to help us along. Here's what happened...
Welcome Aurora Energy volunteers!
Dean and Viva cutting butter.
A busy table, Zakki and Michael
cutting and weighing butter also.
Taylah's first Anzac Bake, learning the ropes with Sia.
Practising date writing and preparing bags -
Jordan, Gary and Gail.
Ella is putting the labels on the bags
whilst Adrita cuts some more tray liners.
An all Aurora table at Aurora... Brady, Sam and Anthony
measuring ribbon and threading gumnuts.
The three amigos in the dry mix corner,
Stuart Michael and Veronica.
Assisted by volunteer Lachlan.
Really, coming to Aurora is like home...
there's always ironing to be done!
Sergia and Gee were happy to assist.
David carefully measuring the boiling water for the bicarb.
Whilst Dallas unwraps the butter portions for the next mix.
Richard, Jacynta and Natasha are rolling in the kitchen.
So are Saroj and Laurie, except they're in the pantry.
Along with Matthew and Amy.
Ross and Zane were making a start on the heavy lifting.
The packing table is a hive of activity -
Mel, Jennifer and Raj on one side...
Julie and Clara on the other.
And last but not least, no packet of Anzacs is
complete without a ribbon and gumnut.
Kelly showing how it's done.
And so the first serious delivery of orders happened today but if you weren't in the lucky first, don't worry, we will get to you very soon, that's a promise! See you all tomorrow 😊
